Who could have predicted a day like today? Tromping through the woods, in the middle of October, wearing shorts and sandals.
I gathered my crew, grabbed my camera, readied the green van and off we went. The strength of the wind made driving the van over bridges a little hairy (my dad describes driving an old VW in the wind is like tacking a sailboat), but it was definitely a ‘green van driving’ kind of day. Reaching the trail head, the sun is shining, the wind dancing and rustling, tumbling clouds, brave birds, a plethora of sights, sounds, and sensations. My progeny content to be outside, but not necessarily with each other, worked out their differences (with strong direction) eventually, making our time together pretty wonderful. Wandering, stopping, twirling, watching. Days like today are like the chocolate sauce on the sundae of having my kids home. Definitely glorious.
Glorious indeed. Spent much of the day outside alone, wandering the vicinity, if one can wander by bicycle. I’m sure i can. I feel our paths must cross sometimes!
Glad to see you making good use of your camera, blogs are made for visuals like this. Lovely job Deani!
