Trips to the library are always interesting. Observations, conversations, and methods of directional movement keep the weekly trip entertaining. This week it was a bike ninja sighting, talking about the magic and science of maple keys falling, and riding invisible bikes.
Even though all my children have entered double digits they still ambulate creatively. They skip, run, leap, dance, stomp, and walk stylistically (think Ministry of Silly Walks). One of my favourites is the invisible bicycle. The invisible bicycles get pulled out of their backpacks (because where else would you keep it?) with an over the shoulder grab, they are balanced and mounted, and then they are pedaled quickly and enthusiastically away. I watch my three younger children (my eldest has been too mature for these kinds of antics since he was very young) zooming away, giggling, with knees high, arms extended, and hair flying. The sun is shining, the wind is blowing, the autumn leaves are dancing, and I am enjoying it all as my kids zip ahead of me riding their invisible bikes.
