Due to unplanned circumstances we found ourselves needing to replace the family vehicle. Being a family of six plus two dogs, our family does not have a lot of selection (Ooo look! We can pick this minivan or…that minivan). On a lark we thought we would look at a pick up truck. Maybe trucks can go in the same category as puppies and awesome boots, you can’t go and look and not bring one home. Well, we didn’t bring one home right away. We have waited six weeks and it is coming to us tomorrow.
Once I knew we were getting a truck I started to prepare… I picked out a hat suitable for the truck and sent my husband the link. I made a “Driving in my Truck” playlist, although it fell off the rails a bit and it became more a “Songs I like to hear at extreme volume” playlist, but I can always make another. I decided I needed a new belt. It might end up having a bigger and shinier buckle than my present belt. My truck also needed me to have the right boots. Of course you can drive a truck in any type of footwear or assessories, but a truck has its comfort zone and preferences. I figured boots would be the last item I acquired in my quest to embrace my inner pick up driver, but I found the perfect pair. The bonus is I have delegated them as my forever boots too, because they are so fabulous (I did not bring them home after the ‘love at first glance and I can get my foot in them’ moment…just less than 24 hours later… demonstrating my amazing self control). Tomorrow, when we go to get our truck, I will be mostly culturally prepared and I know my truck will appreciate the effort I have put forth. Next on the list figuring out how to drive it.
